This one is at Bo's property on the Niangua River, surrounded by an 8000 acre state forest. These are the most fun and information-packed walks imaginable, register soon because they sell out quickly!

​​Wild Yeast Fermentation at Wild Arts Learning Center

In this 3-hour class, learn the basics of making bacteria-rich, gut-enhancing fermented foods at home, like lazy wines, herb sodas, and salt-brine lacto-fermentations like kimchi. After a short presentation and walkabout to gather extra greens, students will go home with a jar of their own wild yeast-infused goodies to ferment.

WOW Outdoor School at Roaring River State Park

I'll be teaching 4-hour block classes Saturday and Sunday on foraging, friction fire, stone tools & cordage, and birding by ear. Check out their class catalogue at the link and sign up early, as classes often fill up.

October 18-19

Wild Herbal Field Trip and Medicinal Plant Symposium at the Ozark Folk Center

The all-day medicinal plant symposium on Saturday features talks and demonstrations from a wide range of experts on herbalism and wild food from around the country. Sunday's walk will be in the OFC Herb Garden and nearby Whitewater Creek Trail. Click the link above for registration.

October 21-22

Winthrop Rockefeller Distinguisted Lecture Series Featuring James Beard Award recipient and indigenous wild food author/chef Sean Sherman.

Join us for this 2-day, 3-program event at the UA Little Rock campus.

Oct. 21 @ 6 p.m.: A community panel discussion will be held titled "Our Food Systems, a Community Conversation".

Oct. 22 @ 1 p.m. I'll join Chef Sherman for a walkabout and Interactive Foraging Journey at the Sequoyah Natl. Research Center. This is free and open to the public.

Oct. 22 @ 6 p.m., Chef Sean Sherman will present his lecture, 

"The (R)evolution of Indigenous Foodways" in the Ron Robinson Theater at Library Square.
